Old notices on Cully Online...

20-8-06

Been a while since some Cully Online updates.. However we have now uploaded a load more photographs (more to come, just need to figure a way of making it look presentable and easy for us to manage).

Also upgrade the discussion forum.

Due to much abuse, we have limited the forum to member only. Signing up to be a member is free and simple. It will just mean people that have not registered cannot view comments. This can be a pain, however we have had so much abuse on the forum, that its gone beyond a joke, and ruins the experience for everyone. We hope this will resolve the problem

Message from Hospiscare

Speakers available

Hospiscare has speakers available, free of charge, to come to your group meeting. We can talk about the very special difference Hospiscare makes in the lives of thousands of patients and families throughout mid and east Devon.

Our speakers are drawn from staff and volunteers for Hospiscare and are able to talk all about the nursing support we give to terminally ill patients in their homes and at the hospice, our daycare centre and facilities, how we raise funds, the role of our volunteers and what you can do to help.

If you would like to book a speaker for your group please contact Amy Griffiths, 01392 688021 or a.griffiths@hospiscare.co.uk

Gardens needed

Last year we launched Hospiscare’s first season of Open Gardens, with 20 proud gardeners opening their grounds to the public. It was a great success raising a staggering £6500 for the mid and east Devon charity, and this year we are looking for more.

Small and beautiful or large and stately – all gardens have an interesting story to tell. We will advertise the location and date, you collection the donations and show off your handiwork! It’s hard work but it’s great fun, and can be as small or large an event as you wish.

If you would like further information please contact Vicky Lachenicht on 01392 688063 or v.lachenicht@hospiscare.co.uk

Well 2005 has been a good year for Cully Online. We have introduce many new features, and our number of visitors is still growing, with december achieving just over 8,000.

Cully Online Number of Unique visitors in 2005

We have several new features being introduced in 2006 to our Cullompton Cully Online web site, so watch this space...

Business's will be interested in a new plan to be implemented later this year, to broadcast Adverts / Business details / Events across our network of web sites, which currently stands at over 26,000 visitors per month! More details to come around July 2006. If you wish to have more information regarding this, please do let us know, and we can contact you. It would be interesting for us in the mean time to see which businesses are interested in such a powerful marketing feature.

9-1-05

Just to reminded people, we do have a free ads areas, for people to submit adverts for BUY and SELL. You can find this in the forums.

We may change this later in the year, so you can submit adverts, on the Cully Online pages similar to the events submitted by people. Watch this space...

5-1-06

We have launched 'In Touch'. A new service which allows people who have moved away from Cullompton to regain contact with friends / family who they believe is still in Cullompton.

Get in Touch with people in Cullompton

2/1/06

We have now uploaded some historic photographs of Cullompton in the 1900's. These photographs are exclusive to Cully Online. You can find these photographs here

Currently awaiting permission from publishers. But 'hopefully' will soon be able to show some ye olde photographs of Cullompton Train station. Watch this space!

16/10/05

We have some exciting new features coming on Cully Online soon. This includes more details on Cullompton's History, which is always interesting to read. This will be rolled out over time, as we obtain more information about Cullompton's history. Now there are some senior members of Cullompton out there, with a vast about of information. I know because i have heard from some of you but never had pen and paper to hand to write it down. We do hope some of you will be able to contribute. Send us a e-mail, give us a call, we are more than willing to visit (maybe in exchange for a cup of tea?) and hear about it. This way the knowledge can be passed down to the next generation, which is pricessless.

We have just introduced a section about crime and safety in Cullompton, and will be improving this area over time.

There is also going to be a area for charity's in cullompton to raise their voice.

The business section is going to be modified as well. We want business to be able to have more control about what they put online. So we are looking to allow not only details to be uploaded but also pdf files, etc. For example menus for pubs. This will improve the richness of what you can find on Cully Online. These features will be introduced soon, hopefully before christmas.

Please bear with us while we implement this changes.

We are very keen on developing Cully Online to be a resourceful web site for Cullompton, and gradually through determination we are going to create a web site which allows YOU control over what you want online, so its not just a browse and read site, but a site which you can interact with.

3/9/05

You can now register with Cully Online. Once registered you will be able to log in and start contributing.

If you have any problems using the system, feel free to raise your views. Over time, we're try and tweak it, but everything seams to running ok.

We are now able to let members of Cully Online to have control over this web site.

By becoming a member, which is a very simple registration process, you will be able to submit business details, articles of any category we provide (as listed in our menu), Discounts, Photographs etc.

You can also review and edit any of your contributions at any time.

In addition, your contributions submitted will be in rich text, which means that you will be able to format your article, just like for example in microsoft word to have bold, italic text or to include tables and emotions . Yep its all exciting stuff.

We are still deciding on how to integrate your articles with our own work, but this shouldn't take too long to decide, and then it will be simple matter of putting our ideas into code!

So watch this space, whilst we iron out the finial creases, and then you may register with us.

There is one technicality which we are unable to avoid, and that is, ideally there should be one log in username and password to access Cully Online, and the Forums (which has been up and running for a year now) However we are currently unable to integrate them both together. So what does this mean? Well you will need to have two logs in, one for Cully Online, and another for the forum. Of course to simplify things, you can simply use the same username and password when registering for them both. A simple solution.

28-8-05

You will soon be able to log into Cully Online which will enable you to contribute directly from your own computer. This will be rolled out over a period of time, with increasing functionality. More details to come..

August 2005

Many thanks to all Visitors. We received over 8000 unique visitors in April 2005.

We are planning on improving Cully Online further as mentioned below, and hope to continue with this overwhelming success!

16-4-05

We are planning on enhancing the Cully Online web site in June. This includes:

Making this Cullompton Web site easier to use. We feel the Business section requires redesigning, so information can be found quicker.

Improving the Discussion Forum.

Improving navigation of this web site, as we believe there is information available to you, which may not at first seam obvious.

Implementing user suggestions. So please, let me know what you want!

We will also include more photograph of our area.

The business section of Cully Online has been successful, and with over 6000 visitors a month we are finding trends on what you are after.
