Lost and Found Animals

This is a support page for people living in or nearby Cullompton, who have lost or found a Animal.

1. What to do if you find a stray Animal?

Firstly, always remember your safety first. The last thing we want is for you to be injured yourself. If you are traveling in your car, make sure you ensure its safe to pull over, and check for any oncoming dangers whilst rescuing an animal. Switching on your hazard warning lights for example would be advisable to slow down any oncoming traffic, and may prompt other people to assist.

2. Safety

If the animal appears in anyway threatening, you should contact a professional, preferable on your mobile (if possible) for assistance. Since the vaccination of stray animals is unknown at the time, any bites or scratches should be checked by your GP or hospital for vaccination.

3. Rescue

When approaching the animal, try talking and entice him/her to come to you.

The animal may be frightened, so sudden movements may provoke or delay his/her rescue.

4. Care

Its advisable to have a plenty of water, blanket, and food to build strength.

5. Returning to owner

If the animal you have found matches the description of any shown on Cully Online below then please contact the rightful owner who will be very pleased to hear from you.

If there are no matches, please do send us details, and a photograph (if possible) of the rescued animal to speed up its return to owner.

Do contact the local vets, as they will be able to advice further. Suggest contacting. Vales Veterinary on Cullompton or Tiverton
